Questions

Frequently asked questions

The things people ask most. If yours isn’t here, email your studio and a manager will come back to you.

Getting started

Why can’t I book a class after buying a membership?

Almost always because your induction hasn’t happened yet. Every new member does a short face-to-face induction with a studio manager before their first class, and the booking system won’t open up until that’s done. Email your studio and they’ll get one in the diary.

What happens at the induction?

About twenty minutes with one of our studio managers. They’ll show you the reformer and how to set it up for your height, the kiosk interface, the headphones, and how to get in and out of the studio safely.

How do I create an account and book a class?

Download the Access Pilates app. You create your account and buy a membership or class pass in there, and once your induction is done you manage all your bookings through the same app.

I’ve never done Pilates. Where do I start?

Buy a membership or class pack, then book an induction. After that you’ll have access to beginner programs that introduce the basic reformer movements and proper alignment, plus taster programs designed to build your confidence at your own pace.

Classes and access

When are the classes?

Bookings run every hour on the hour, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through the app. There’s no timetable to fit into.

Is anyone at the studio?

Not usually. The studios are unstaffed and classes are led virtually on your own screen. Studio managers are there for inductions and are contactable by email.

What sort of classes are there?

Hundreds of instructor-led reformer classes, all designed and presented by qualified reformer Pilates professionals. That includes beginner and taster programs, cardio, physio-led sessions, and pre and postnatal classes.

Can I use all three studios?

Yes. Your membership works at Fannie Bay, Zuccoli and Casuarina — use whichever suits on the day.

How early can I get in?

On a casual class pass you can get into the studio 15 minutes before your session. There’s storage behind each reformer for shoes, keys and a water bottle.

Memberships

Can I pause my membership?

Yes. Unlimited Weekly can be paused as often as you like, with no limit and no extra fee. The 12 Month membership includes one pause of up to seven consecutive days. Message through the app or email your studio ahead of time.

How do I cancel?

Email your studio and let them know when you’d like to stop, and they’ll guide you through it. Your membership contract has the detail on notice periods.

Is there a joining fee?

No. Neither weekly membership has a joining fee, and Unlimited Weekly has no lock-in contract either.

Can I try it first?

Use the code NEWMEMBER and your first week of Unlimited Weekly is free. If you’d rather not start something weekly, there’s a $30 casual class or a 3 or 7 class pass.

Anything else

I’ve got an injury, or I’m pregnant. Can I do reformer Pilates?

We can’t answer that one for you, and we won’t try — it depends on you, not on us. Have a chat to your GP or physio first. Then raise it with your studio manager at your induction and they can show you what to adjust. We do run pre and postnatal and physio-led classes, but whether they’re right for your body is a conversation for you and your health professional.

How do I get in touch?

By email, to the studio you train at — fanniebay@, zuccoli@ or casuarina@accesspilates.net. There’s no phone number, because the studios are unstaffed and email reaches your studio manager directly. You can also message through the app.

Start with an induction

Pick a membership, download the app, then book a face-to-face induction with your studio manager. Twenty minutes, and you’re set up to book any hour you like.
